The actors of the PEP ECOPASSPORT programme
The organisation of the PEP ecopassport® Programme relies on:
- An association that provides legal support and administrative operation of the PEP ecopassport Programme
- Active or associate members, members of the PEP Association
- A Steering Committee which determines and leads the Programme policy, with support of a Bureau designated within it
- A Bureau responsible for managing the association
- A Technical Committee responsible for ensuring compliance with and updating the technical rules, assisted by sectoral or thematic working groups.
Verification of the PEP ECOPASSPORT programme
Verification by an independent third party is a mandatory procedure since 1 July 2017, which means that it must be carried out by an accredited PEP Ecopassport® verifier.
The role of accredited verifiers consists of verifying, in accordance with the procedures provided for by the Programme, the compliance of the PEP with the “Instructions of the PEP ecopassport® Programme”, as well as the “PEP drafting rules”.
The accreditation of the verifiers is based on the requirements of ISO 14025 standard and takes best professional practices into account. This procedure aims to qualify and endorse the skills required to ensure the quality and independence of verifications of PEP subject to the compliance process of the PEP ecopassport® Programme.
The verified data include the PEP Ecopassport logo below.
The verification results in the publication of two documents proving the conformity of the PEP:
- The verification certificate signed by the accredited verifier
- The verification report
